About the Conference

Theme: Promising Practices for Healthy Communities

Most people want to be involved with decisions about their health, but low health literacy levels often stand in the way. The IHA AZ Annual Health Literacy Conference 2024 centers on the theme "Promising Practices for Healthy Communities.

Attendees will explore how organizations can implement health literacy best practices and system-level practices for improved patient satisfaction and health outcomes, including among individuals living with mental health and substance abuse disorders. Presenters, offering national and local perspectives, will also delve into the dynamic relationship between cultural competency, service utilization, and health literacy to promote access to care.
